Welcome to the Learning Network Online Learning Community Wiki

We know that intermittent one-time shots of PD are not a very effective way to promote continuous professional learning. WIKI's allow members to access Anything, Anytime, Anywhere, to supportive, collective professional learning. By networking teachers around common needs and concerns WIKI's can:
  • build a collective knowledge through teacher-to-teacher job embedded and meaningful discourse,
  • help to solve challenges, refine ideas, and create richer and deeper professional understanding .
Members of a WIKI collaborate by sharing their ideas, resources, and experiences so the sum total on the WIKI... is greater than the sum of any of its parts. A true community of learners. Welcome.

Haven't we all had days like this?

I think "Goofy" needed some fellow collaborators to ease the load!!

What's a Wiki? How does it work?

Coordinated effort eases everyone's load!!

How We Will Begin to Use Our Wiki.
We will begin our wiki as a repository for learning resources developed for Learning Network sponsored PD sessions. Wiki members will be able to:
  • access and download the resources for their classroom use,
  • share their experiences of using the resources by entering posts in the discussion tab for each page.

The real power of the wiki is in the DISCUSSION tab. By sharing our experiences we will create a greater "Wisdom of the Crowd":
  • What worked?
  • What didn't work?
  • How did you tweak the resource for your class?
  • Did you find other resources that helped?
  • HELP! Does anyone know about.....?
  • WOW! Look what My students did.

Learning Network will continually monitor the discussions and pass along any requests to the resource creators so they can join the discussion to help build the knowledge.
